Description:

‘Official’ ft. NoJo Wallace showcases the best of Albertyda1st’s abilities- his smooth melodic yet hard delivery paired with a variety of flows, laidback production from Beck, and a slick feature verse from NoJo, result in a great track. Incredibly replayable (I’ve listened to it over 75 times in the past 3 days), this track’s catchy verses and chill choruses mesh together very well. ‘Official’ isn’t anything groundbreaking - it’s not experimental or significantly different from Albertyda1st’s other music - but it is an easy to listen to and memorable song that fits perfectly on your playlist. Another memorable aspect of this track is Albertyda1st’s writing on the second verse. He discusses making his relationship with his girl official, and everything that would entail (introducing to his family, cutting off exes, committing to overcoming challenges and working out any future problems), and his honesty and how straightforward he is make that verse the most memorably written one on the song. NoJo Wallace’s writing has some standout lines and wordplay (like “bagged me a dime, but no I ain’t sellin no bud”) but is overall less impactful. However, his flow and delivery work perfectly with Albertyda1st- the fast paced and clear delivery is a nice contrast to Albertyda1st’s slower autotuned sing-rap. ‘Official’ is enjoyable to listen to, catchy, and a great vibe, and I can’t recommend it enough.

Overall, this track makes for the perfect addition to any chill, vibe, in your feelings, or driving playlist- check out Albertyda1st on Instagram @albertyda1st and our recent review of him at @bootleg.reviews!
