Rising star Treflii is the perfect blend of a modern day rockstar. On some tracks he’s able to masterfully combine intensity and energy while still coming off as charismatic and incredibly likeable, while on others he crafts a smooth and laidback feel that’s perfect for any chill playlist. Ranging from sad tracks mourning his lost friends to upbeat and bouncy celebrations of his success, Treflii is always a vibe, and we’ll break down how he’s managed to find this perfect balance on his recent albums here.

Treflii’s second full length album ‘Yung N Hopeless’ dropped on May 22nd, around a year after his debut ‘9816’, and between these two projects he hits every possible style or vibe you could want. On his first project he has proud and exhilarated tracks like ‘Blessings (feat. Moneybanks)’, ‘M.V.P’, and ‘The Outro’, where he highlights his successes and his journey to the top, bouncy yet intensely aggressive bangers like ‘Quarantine Freestyle (feat. Moneybanks)’ and ‘Ricky Bobby’ that are just as catchy as they are hard, and melodic sing-rap standouts like ‘B.L.B (feat. YGN Tune) and ‘Floatin’. This ensures that there’s something for everyone and for every occasion - it’s thematically and sonically complete without any missing links. Another favorite track on the project, ‘F**k Yo Ex (feat. T-Tyme)’, shows all aspects of Treflii’s talent, with a catchy hook perfect for the radio or the club but a hard hitting verse, as well as a more laidback feature verse in a sing-rap r&b style from T-Tyme.

On his second project, Treflii expands on everything that made the first project successful. Standout songs include ‘Am I To Blame (feat. T-Tyme)’ a melodic but fast paced flowing track where he reflects on the mistakes he made in his past and how he’s trying to better himself and the people he came up with. Another top song from the album is ‘Tryna Get It’, a catchy and upbeat track focusing on relationship issues and the grind to make it in the music industry, and the overlap between how his music career affects his relationships with women. The only thing ‘Yung N Hopeless’ lacks is a true standout hard-hitting track like ‘9816’ had several of. However, the shift to a more generally melodic sound is perfect for the summer and it does make the project more cohesive, and every song on ‘Yung N Hopeless’ is an extremely solid addition to any melodic playlist.

You can see the Cali influences on Treflii, but the best part of his artistry is that he isn’t limited to just one sound. Between his diverse styles and variety of features, Treflii is a must-add to at least one of your playlists. Check him out on Instagram here @treflii.official!
